The Grain and Hop Store is a modern pub in central Cambridge, with an extensive craft beer and cocktail menu (freshly made and on tap), as well as a menu of fun dishes up for grabs. Take a seat inside, or in its large beer garden overlooking Parker’s Piece, for a relaxed dining experience in a contemporary setting.
The Grain and Hop Store’s clientele is varied - birthday celebrations, football fans, and romantic daters all find their way to the pub for a drink or two and, invariably, a graze from its extensive menu. Excitingly, the multi-storey pub restaurant does more than just food and drinks, being home to regular football screenings, Cambridge Art Club sessions, and salsa dancing classes in the evening.
A social and lively venue, the menu very much reflects the pub’s atmosphere. Grazers including sweet chilli chicken bao buns, veggie burger sliders, and spicy fried halloumi are ideal to share with friends, and the designated sharing platters – loaded nachos, a veggie tray, and the chicken and halloumi tray - especially so.
A particularly fun feature of the Grain and Hop Store’s menu is the dirty fries, served up in a shakeable foil bag. Choose between rosemary salted fries or waffle fries, and a range of seasonings – the spicy bag comes highly recommended, using Cajun spices, Sriracha mayo, red chilli, spring onion, and coriander – and shake away to your heart’s content to really get that flavour infused.
Perfect to pair with the dirty fries is the range of dirty burgers on offer. There's Korean fried chicken, beef dripping, Monterey Jack cheese, and even a Beyond Meat vegan burger, the ideal way to soak up your (perhaps) numerous pints. If you’re around Cambridge on a Sunday, you might also like to try out the Grain and Hop Store’s roast dinner (there’s a vegetarian option too!).
