In the quaint town of Reigate you’ll find some beautiful country side, a castle and adventurous caves. When the Giggling Squid first came to Reigate, it took the restaurant a little longer to open than originally planned after finding caves deep under the restaurant. Thankfully it overcame this problem and now the Giggling Squid sits proudly on Reigate High Street for everyone to enjoy among the cute and quirky shops.
Serving up authentic Thai food and spanning four floors, you’ll have plenty of space to enjoy everything on the menu, and there is a lot to choose from. From the starters, you can go for spring rolls and pork dumplings to warm you up, before chowing down on mains. Whether you feel like eating from the land or sea, Giggling Squid has you covered. Try the banana leaf grilled sea bass, or the pad cha – a Thai sea food stir fry. If you can’t imagine going a meal without some meat, opt for the chubby cheek pork or Rising Star red curry with confit duck. As if that doesn’t already sound appealing enough, you can also pick from a selection of classic Thai curries too. You’ll find red and green curries on this part of the menu as well as some more exciting options like the Paneang and Massaman curries.
If you aren’t completely full from your starters and mains, don’t forget to try the desserts, which, surprisingly, isn’t traditional Thai. Instead, there are all the classic western desserts with south-east Asian flavours incorporated into them. Think caramelised mango cake and coconut pudding with berry compote.
