About

Five Guys first came onto London’s food scene in 2013, having emerged from its success in America. The fast-casual restaurant, specialising in burgers and fries cooked in peanut oil, initially began as a family business. If you're wondering who the 'Five Guys' are, it's the three sons of Jerry and Janie Murrell, who chose to start a business instead of going to college. Their formula has remained the same since the beginning of the business, 'burgers and fries cooked to perfection' in keeping with the philosophy of 'to perfect and to serve'.

The business quickly grew to become a popular choice for those looking for something quick but of a better standard than the existing fast-food places. People were instantly drawn to the fact that the chain claimed to never use frozen ingredients and focused on producing fresh meals instead. As well as this, Five Guys' decoration became heavily snapped on social media platforms. Instagram users made use of the checkered red and white design covering the walls, meaning it quickly became tied to the brand's image and more people were becoming aware of the restaurant.

The Victoria site is part of a UK-wide expansion and boasts plenty of seating and the same seamless ordering system which sees burgers and fries cooked to order.

There are 15 available topping choices for the burgers, apparently resulting in a potential 250,000 combinations! There are also lots of different options for the milkshakes, this time a mere 1000... As well as this, the menu offers hot dogs, plus cheese or veggie sandwiches. One selling point for Five Guys is the brand's sense of generosity. The website states that ‘whatever size [of fries that] you order, you’ll always find an extra scoop tipped in your bag’, and it is indeed, true. In the world of Five Guys, bigger is always better. There are now over 100 branches of the restaurant in the UK, including this one in Victoria.
