About
Queues are shorter here than at the London outposts of this much-hyped and fast-growing American burger chain, but don’t be surprised by a 20-minute wait from door to counter at busy times. The same red-and-white chequered tiles, utilitarian seating, gigantic sacks of peanuts and belting rock music are present and correct, but unlike some of the London outlets, there’s also a large and pleasant outdoor eating area on the converted cattle market square – a bonus on fine days. The menu features a selection of burgers with as many free toppings as you want (including HP sauce), along with cheesy bacon dogs, cajun fries (cooked in peanut oil) and grilled cheese or BLT sandwiches. You’ll also find the famed Freestyle machines that enable customers to mix their own fizzy drinks. The hitch? Pricing is a mite steep for Cambridge.
