Previously known as The Jolly Sailor, Fish on the Quay is a grade II listed building, in which some parts date back to the 15th century. Those parts are still visible today in the back part of our restaurant. In 2016 the owner refurbished the inside of the building to a very high standard, in keeping with the area and its history. Then in 2019 Fish on the Quay underwent a major refurbishment to the exterior of the building to restore the building back to its former glory.
Over the years, Fish on the Quay has appeared on TV a couple of times, most famously ‘Love Joy’ filmed a whole episode at the pub in January 1992 (No String’s). It has also appeared on Lawless heart in 2001 and The Antiques Road show in 2007.
