Tucked into Heathrow’s Crowne Plaza, but handy for the surrounding areas and the local golf courses too, this smartish Indian has been pleasing the discerning neighbourhood clientele, as well as those passing through, with its clever Southern Indian cooking. There are plenty of crowd pleasers on the menu – murgh jalfrezi and saag gosht rub shoulders with chicken tandoori and salmon tikka, but there are options to tempt inquisitive tastebuds with too. Scallops hiriyali (with a curried green herb sauce) and the sweet rai monkfish, (marinated in honey, mustard and yoghurt and served with plum sauce) might tempt even the most conservative of diners. Friendly and helpful staff are used to guiding an international clientele through the menu and the atmosphere is far more subdued than the imaginative and daring cuisine.
