Pleasant wine bar
After a concert it was good to stroll round the corner and have a bite to eat here. We went for a selection of small plates as we didn't want a full meal, but it was enough. The crocchette miste stuffed with olives and mozzarella bites, a pear, walnut and goat cheese salad, grilled Tuscan sausage (one sausage) with potato purée, and Parma ham with buffalo mozzarella - it was all a bit cheese centred but that was our selection with some breads and we enjoyed it. We wanted to get one of the rich sunshiny Italian wines to work with it, and that's where the service was a bit inexperienced. Our very pleasant waitress spent quite a while looking for and couldn't find the wine we chose and it turned out they had no more left. Then the same thing happened with the next choice. We ended up with a very good bottle of Chianti Riserva and we weren't in a rush, but really we would have preferred to have the wine before the food arrived, and wanted to try something a bit more unusual from what looks to be a very extensive Italian wine list. Top tip for this place - check what wines they have first! Other than that we'd be happy to go there again for it's relaxed atmosphere, the food and the wine.
