Overlooking the river, this city centre bar and restaurant is quirky and stylish – the perfect place to meet for light bites, afternoon tea, dinner or cocktails. You will find a selection of favourites on the menu, alongside some delicious looking Indian inspired dishes, and a good selection of sharing platters.
If you’re looking for drinks and nibbles, try one of Emma’s sharing platters for two. The cheese platter is served alongside crackers, biscuits and a selection of local chutneys, and the bread platter includes rosemary focaccia, sour dough, multi grain and a pumpkin seed bread, all served with balsamic, olive oils and hummus.
You will also find a traditional charcuterie platter and a fish platter which comes with garlic and chorizo prawns, Asian crab cakes, and crispy calamari. If you’re looking for a vegetarian option, you won’t be disappointed as the Veg platter comes with Bombay potato, deep fried cauliflower pakora, green salad and tortilla. Matching wines are also available to accompany these dishes.
Other options on the menu include a tandoori steak sandwich, a house burger and home-made pie of the week. You will find a good selection of sides available, such as mac and cheese, sweet potato fries and smoked cheddar mash.
If you have a sweet tooth the dessert menu offers classic favourites such as sticky toffee pudding served with a butterscotch sauce, and their famous Doubletree chocolate cookie cheesecake served with maple walnut ice cream. If you can’t decide on one, try the dessert sharing platter which comes with sugar doughnuts and chocolate sauce, lemon tarts, chocolate eclairs and maple walnut ice cream, to name just a few of your options.
If you’re looking for afternoon tea you can book a table in the ‘secret garden.’ Here you will find both a traditional afternoon tea menu, alongside a savoury afternoon tea menu which includes dishes such as serrano ham corn and chive quiche, mini ploughman’s, and spinach cheese croquette.
Emma’s bar and restaurant is relaxed and contemporary, enjoying city and river views.
