Found in the scenic fishing town of Brixham, Crusoe’s Restaurant is a waterside dining establishment which offers spectacular views across Brixham Harbour.
The restaurant’s dining room is a relaxed and cosy space, with a laid-back beachy feel. Diners sit at bare wooden tables flanked by chairs painted in pale yellow and blue hues, while large windows flood the space with natural daylight and allow for fantastic views of fishing boats and Brixham’s famous Balamory-style coloured houses.
Crusoe's Restaurant was taken over by new owners in June 2021 and the team is focused on providing high-quality, locally sourced produce, with a strong intention to support local business, as well as the area’s lifeblood - it’s fishing and farming industries. Crusoe’s Restaurant serves a tempting a la carte with seafood and steaks at its heart, although daily specials and a catch of the day are also available (you can find these written up on a specials board or call ahead to see what is on offer).
To begin your meal, tuck into starters such as a hearty bowl of Brixham seafood chowder, or pan-fried king prawns slicked with garlic and chilli oil and served on a bed of rainbow rice. For your main course, opt for British classics including beer battered fish and chips with crushed peas and homemade tartar sauce or go European with ‘Field of Dreams’: a pasta dish from Sardinia, which consists of fettuccini mixed with wild mushrooms, garlic, thyme, rosemary and cream, finished off with Parmesan cheese and truffle oil.
Meat-lovers can get their fix thanks to a selection of steaks served direct to your table on a hot volcanic stone, while veggie diners can try a halloumi and avocado burger. Puddings can be found on the dessert board, while wines and cocktails are on hand for post-prandial drinking.
