The Falcon Hotel is sat right on the edge of the Bude Canal and has wonderful views across the water. Surrounded by trees, the hotel has an impressive white façade which has the air of a smart country house. Once you find your way to the Coachman’s Bar & Grill you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a cosy pub; red velvet banquettes line the walls and a roaring fire sits on one side of the room, while at the far end is a well-stocked bar. To the front of the restaurant is a raised beer terrace which is perfectly suited to al fresco dining during the summer.
The food menu at the Coachman’s Bar & grill has been designed by head chef Mike Dodson and changes every season. Dishes on offer range from classics like fish and chips, sirloin steak and lasagne, to lamb’s liver from Philip Warren butchers with leek and potato mash and red onion gravy. A selection of sandwiches are also available for those looking for something a little lighter, while you can also head to the Coachman’s on a Sunday for a hearty roast.
Drinks-wise there is wide variety of wines, beers and spirits on offer, including two local real ales. Head here on a Friday evening between 5-7 to take advantage of half price Champagne.
