CLAP in London is a fine dining Japanese restaurant that can be found in the affluent area of Knightsbridge. The culinary concept behind this restaurant combines authentic Japanese cuisine with innovation and creativity to blend together and result in an immersive and unforgettable dining experience. Over two floors, guests are wined and dined with some of the most beautiful Japanese offerings. When you enter, you’ll venture up to the sixth floor to get into the main restaurant, and find live sushi and robata counters. On the seventh floor, which is a rooftop with views over London, you’ll find the bar, lounge and terrace area.
The a la carte menu kicks off with zensai, translating to bites. Enjoy padron peppers with sweet honey miso sauce and sesame seeds, or try the black cod with baby gem lettuce, foie gras, citrus miso and fried kadaifi. Starters include the miso soup with wakame, tofu and spring onions, and the kale and shrimp salad with bean sprouts, radish and karashi wasabi dressing. For a truly indulgent starter, there are also wagyu beef and foie gras gyozas with truffle teriyaki. The raw selections on the menu include a sea bass and mango ceviche with lime, cucumber, coriander and waka momo, and a hokkaido scallop tiradito with pequilos salsa, dried miso and romesco.
The restaurant's signature rolls include the surf and turf made with king crab, wagyu beef, avocado and yuzu kosho, and corn shrimp tempura with avocado and cucumber truffle mayo. The main courses include the baby back pork ribs with homemade hoisin and toasted almonds and lime, along with the pistachio crusted baby chicken and yuzu daikon. Don't forget to add some sides to your meal, like the kizami wasabi mashed potato.
