A hybrid wine bar-cum-noodle joint, Chi manages to fuse both sides of the business with some style. Set over two floors, with a low-ceilinged basement dining room and a ground-floor bar/restaurant, it’s a bright, agreeable space thanks to large windows and modern blond-wood tables. There’s a great deal more than noodles on the vast pan-Asian menu: Korean chilli beef skewers, nasi goreng and Japanese chicken-katsu curry are just some of the eclectic dishes popular with lunch-break diners, while a long list of tapas-style small plates such as grilled pork dumplings or sesame prawn toasts satisfies the unbuttoned, after-work drinks crowd. The long bar serves bottled beers, such as Tsing Tao and Kirin Ichiban, alongside draught Asahi and some attractively priced wines to match the spiciness of the food.
