An establishment that has become well known for offering great quality produce at good value, Cafe Zoot is a charming, busy yet friendly Lincoln based restaurant. Open from 8.30am every day until late, Cafe Zoot serves all three courses, with special menus and set offers throughout the week.
The breakfast menu is simple yet sounds good. A classic full English begins with options of eggs royale, smoked salmon, and avocado specials. Pancakes are made English style with either fried bacon and maple syrup or lemon and sugar – a humble yet remarkable pairing. At lunchtime, enjoy a selection of sandwiches that are made on soft Italian ciabatta. First up is the chicken and chorizo with spinach, chilli mayo, cos lettuce, tomato and onion, followed by hot roast pork with apple sauce, and brie and cranbury with rocket.
You can enjoy a two course special offer from the set menu, which is available all day, every day. The pasta and paella dishes are where we're drawn to, with linguine al pomodoro, a homemade lasagne and chicken and chorizo paella. The rustic pizzas are 10 inches and prepared with a homemade sourdough base. You can opt for el' cortez with mozzarella, spicy beef, jalapenos and peppers, classics like margherita, and spinach with mushrooms.
Other mains include a full rack of sticky BBQ ribs with skinny fries, beer battered onions and homemade coleslaw, along with the vegan's shepherd's pie, Zoot burger and vegan panang curry made with cauliflower, green beans, mangetout and peppers in a coconut sauce, served with steamed basmati rice. For dessert, we'd jump straight to the vanilla creme brulee served with a raspberry shortbread biscuits, and there is also a sticky toffee pudding, Belgian waffle and cheesecake of the day.
