Restaurants don’t come much more self-explanatory than this, with Burgers & Fish indeed being a casual spot with specialises in gourmet burgers and fresh fish dishes. Found in the heart of popular coastal town Padstow, Burgers & Fish benefits from a great location close to the stunning views of the harbour and is open every day of the week from noon.
Seating around 60 diners, the restaurant forgoes the hyper-modern aesthetic you might expect from a gourmet burger joint and instead adopts a more rustic look - think dark wood tables and chairs, wooden beams running along the ceiling and a standalone bar towards the back of the dining room that is wrapped in studded brown leather.
Like most of the restaurants in this popular fishing village, Burgers & Fish takes advantage of Cornwall’s abundant natural larder, using only the freshest local ingredients that the team can get their hands on. The show-stopping burgers here are made with 100% Cornish beef from Phillip Warren Butchers and are all cooked on a proper charcoal grill to give them an enhanced flavour. Pick from the likes of a classic cheeseburger, a full English breakfast burger or the Diablito, which arrives topped with chilli con carne sauce, jalapenos, chive cream and salad. All burgers are sandwiched between a brioche bun and (naturally) served with chips, while the restaurant also makes its own ketchup.
If you’d rather a fish course, you can choose from dishes such as classic fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce and garden peas, or Cornish mussels in a cider sauce and served alongside focaccia. There are a handful of vegetarian and vegan options to choose from too, including a halloumi salad or a garden bean burger.
To round off your meal, tuck into desserts such as a chocolate brownie sundae, while little ones can dine from a dedicated kids menu.
