Just a short walk from the Northern Quarter, Browns is located on the corner of York Street and Spring Gardens Manchester. Browns bar and restaurant is housed inside a converted former banking hall, this Edwardian building features original marble, wood panelling and high ceilings.
Browns, Manchester is open daily from midday through to dinner, plus they serve breakfast at the weekend. There is also an afternoon tea menu. The menus are seasonal and subject to change; however, you will find a good selection of classic British dishes on offer.
The main a la carte menu features a selection of bar food, main dishes and chef’s specials. Perhaps you will kick things off with the baked camembert to share served with fig and Bramley apple chutney, or the mushrooms on toast served with white wine, garlic and parsley sauce.
Main dishes include favourites such as classic fish and chips, and the Browns burger. There is also a fish pie on the menu, plus a number of different salads, pies and chicken dishes.
Chef’s specials are available every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, including dishes such as chateaubriand for two served with fries, cherry vine tomatoes grilled mushrooms and onion rings, and the fillet surf and turf which includes fresh lobster, fillet steak, cherry vine tomatoes and fries.
There are plenty of tempting sounding sides on offer including truffle and parmesan fries, buttered greens, and seasoned fries.
If you’re looking for dessert you will find a large menu with homemade profiteroles, Eton mess and home baked chocolate brownie. There is also a British cheeseboard served with fig and Bramley apple chutney and sourdough crisps.
If you’re dining with younger guests there is the option to order smaller sized portions from the main menu.
