One of London's rapid-rising baked good providers, Bread Ahead started with head baker Matthew Jones, and former St John Bakery head honcho Justin Gellatly, and now has sites all over London, including this one in the heart of Chelsea. Whether you're after freshly baked bread, flaky pastries, sourdough pizzas or those Insta-famous doughnuts, you'll find all that and more at Bread Ahead Chelsea.
The site itself couldn't be in a better spot. You'll find Bread Ahead just around the corner from Sloane Square station on Pavilion Road. Stop in to grab a loaf of bread if you like - there's white, wholemeal, rye, raisin loaf and more on the menu - or grab a table and sit down to a proper lunch. The menu features sandwiches such as smoked Applewood and Wiltshire ham ploughman's, and pastrami, pickles, wild rocket and mustard mayo, as well as pizzas, available whole or by the slice.
There are sweet treats too - croissants, pain au chocolat, babkas, cakes and more - and all your favourite doughnut flavours, from the classic vanilla custard to the sea salt caramel and honeycomb, best enjoyed with a coffee, of course.
As well as serving delicious baked goods, you can also learn to make them at Bread Ahead Chelsea - this is one of the larger Bread Ahead sites and it has a baking school within. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned baker, Bread Ahead offers half day, full day and three day courses for beginner and seasoned bakers alike, where you can learn to bake bread, make perfect laminated pastries, or even how to make those delicious doughnuts.
