Brasserie Blanc is a chain of French restaurants inspired and guided by celebrity chef and vocal advocate of French cuisine, Raymond Blanc. With four locations in London and a further 10 which can be found regionally through the country, Brasserie Blanc is one of the better-known restaurant chains of its kind.
Brasserie Blanc Oxford is a well-lit, airy space with floor to ceiling windows which provide views to greenery and a garden outside. The décor features deep, navy blue wall panelling with rustic details such as distressed mirrors, dried flowers and decorative, potted clementine trees. There are plenty of seating options including large round tables for groups and comfortable bench seating for pairs.
This branch is open Monday to Friday, from 12noon until 10pm. At the weekend, its hours extend to 9am until 10pm. Brasserie Blanc Oxford has a larger range of menus than some of the others in the chain, allowing diners to choose from a la carte, breakfast and Sunday menus, as well desserts, drinks and kids.
The breakfast menu features typical morning-time classics such as smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, smashed avocado on sourdough toast and house granola. There’s also a small boulangerie selection including croissants, pain au chocolat and pain aux raisin.
The a la carte menu mixes French favourites such as baked Saint-Marcellin cheese with grilled Loch Fyne salmon fillet and tomato hollandaise. There’s also a large section dedicated to steak, featuring only grass-fed British beef which has been ethically reared and 30-day dry aged, selected for the restaurant by the Queen’s butcher Aubrey Allen.
