On the hunt for new restaurants in Glasgow? We’re not surprised. In the last few years, Glasgow has launched itself right into the conversation as one of the UK’s most exciting restaurant scenes, even giving the best restaurants in Edinburgh a run for their money. First, Cail Bruich won Glasgow’s first Michelin star for 17 years, before Unalome by Graeme Cheevers doubled the tally in 2022, putting Glasgow firmly on the map for British and European foodies.
Glasgow isn’t just about fine dining though - every month there are exciting new restaurants, bars, wine bars and other places to eat in this fine city. Glasgow has embraced its international restaurant scene with open arms, from the riotous south east Asian plates of Ka Pao and Gaga Glasgow to Silk Road Deli’s extraordinary fusion veggie baps, and the eclectic menu at Ox and Finch.
Whatever you’re looking for, this city has it. You want new bars in Glasgow? Check out Wino in Partick or Hooligan in Kelvinbridge. New restaurants in Glasgow city centre? Try Gaucho’s new Glasgow outpost, or the soothing marble-clad bar and seafood charms of Iasg in the Blythswood Hotel.
Be sure to nip back here whenever you’re looking for what’s new in Glasgow - we’ve even got a few hotly-tipped restaurants that will be opening their doors soon so you can be right at the head of the queue.

Silk Road Deli
What: Fresh off her appearance on Million Pound Menu, Tanya Golhil headed to Glasgow’s Southside and set up Silk Road Deli. It looks fairly innocuous until you get a first bite of one of her stupendous veggie sandwiches - tortilla hash with padron peppers, salsa brava, shaved manchego and aioli, or a crispy panko sweet potato stuffed sub with katsu gravy, pozu dressed leaves and pickled ginger, perhaps. Silk Road closes when the sandwiches run out so get in that queue early.

Unalome by Graeme Cheevers
What: Graeme Cheevers joined more than one exclusive club in 2022 when his new restaurant Unalome won a Michelin star; not only did he become just the second Michelin-starred chef in the city of Glasgow, he also did it in his debut year - a rare feat for any chef. The tasting odysseys on display at Unalome are right up there with some of the best in Scotland, and there will surely be more awards for Unalome and Cheevers in the future

Gaucho Glasgow
What: Luxury steakhouse chain Gaucho continues to march across the land. In early 2022 it finally made it to Glasgow, opening up in a grand old building on West Nile Street. If you’ve been to Gaucho before you know the vibe - this Argentinian steakhouse is all about prime, grass fed beef, in a variety of cuts and marinades. Grab a Sunday table for the very promising never-ending Sunday roast.

Chateau-X
What: This neat new concept goes hyper-specific, focusing in on a single steak cut - Chateaubriand - and doing it whilst hitting great quality and value points. All Chateaus served at Chateau-X come from the top 2% of quality cattle breeds - Limousin, Hereford, Aberdeen Angus and a few others. A Chateaubriand for two will set you back £35 - not a bad price for the cut - and there is a smattering of sides and snacks too, including ox doughnuts, potato salad and skinny chips.
Where: 10 Claremont Street, Glasgow, G3 7HA

La Pastina Deli
What: From pastry and cake baking to fresh deli sandwiches, cold cuts, cheeses and salads, La Pastina Deli does it all. This little deli on Byres Road has quickly made itself a local favourite, and they extrude their own fresh pasta too. Nip in for a bag of fresh, bronze-cut rigatoni and you might find yourself leaving with a helping of lasagne and some Italian pastries.
Where: 180 Byres Road, Glasgow G12 8SN

Hooligan Wine
What: Sister restaurant to the well-respected Eighty Eight, Hooligan has more of a laid-back vibe than its older sibling. Jumping right on board the natural wine and seasonal small plates bandwagon, Hooligan mixes things up with some international influences, serving up dishes like dukkah fried chicken leg with date barbecue sauce, and onion bhaji with tamarind mayo.
Where: 1 Lynedoch Street, Glasgow, G3 6EF

Iasg
What: The mysteriously named Iasg (apparently pronounced ‘eeusk’) comes from the Gaelic word for fish, and surprise surprise, this bright, spacious restaurant is a celebration of Scottish seafood. The marble-clad, fish-scaled bar and counter is a particular highlight - perhaps one of the nicest places in the city to sit with a glass of bubbly and enjoy small fish-led plates like Orkney scallops, Jerusalem artichoke, black garlic and chicken skin crumb, or roasted monkfish with Marsala sauce.
Where: 11 Blythswood Square, Glasgow, G2 4AD

Lobo Glasgow
What: Replacing Southside brunch favourite Gnom, Lobo has some decent-sized shoes to fill but it seems to be winning plenty of fans with well-executed Mediterranean small plates and a compact menu of cocktails and liqueurs. Bonus points for a delicious-sounding dedicated vegan menu - dishes include sumac roast carrots, smoked almond ajo blanco, bulgar wheat and raisins, and roast baby beet, butter bean mash, walnut dukkah and chilli oil.
Where: 758 Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow, G41 2AE

Wino Partick
What: The wine bar revolution is taking Glasgow by storm - Wino Partick is the latest to join the party, and it does so with a wine list that is almost entirely organic and vegan (except for the Pinot Noirs apparently). Still, that’s quite a feat. The menu is not so much small plates as little nibbles and bites - definitely playing a second fiddle to the wine, but still enjoyable with the likes of zucchini fritti, dauphinoise potato with radicchio, and affogato with a pine nut biscuit.
Where: 562 Dumbarton Road, Glasgow, G11 6RH
Book now: Wino Partick
Mowgli
What: Nisha Katona’s easy-going Indian street food empire shows no signs of stopping, and no wonder - these eateries have been popular all over the country, from the original Manchester and Liverpool locations all the way to London, Cardiff and now, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Here you can fill up on treacle tamarind fries, yoghurt chat bombs and Himalayan cheese toast.
Where: 78 St Vincent Street, Glasgow G2 5UB

The Scallop's Tale
What: Having opened in Bearsden in April 2022, The Scallop’s Tale is the project of Dr Usman Qureshi - a doctor and lifelong seafood lover who has always dreamed of owning a restaurant. Fear not, though, Dr Qureshi has enlisted long-time hotel chef Stephen Bohler to develop a menu of fishy classics, including fancy fish and chips, moules mariniere and crispy calamari.

So, who would bet against Shucks - the latest to join the Bruich fold - being just as good? Not us. Expect great Scottish seafood, fine wines and Champagnes at the latest joint.

There’s not much other information out there at the moment, but the restaurant looks like it’ll be in the Botanics building near Ka Pao.
