The best London hotels with Michelin star restaurants
From three Michelin-starred restaurants home to the best cooking in the country, to recent additions that have exploded onto London’s dining scene in the last year or so, explore the capital’s best gourmet hotels.
Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, Mayfair
What: Another of London’s three Michelin-starred spots, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester is the place to go for French food on another level. Chef patron Jean Philippe-Blondet is a fireball of creativity and you’ll find a mix of Alain Ducasse classics, like his famous scallop and citrus beurre blanc starter, and more obscure creations such as quince with crispy chestnut leaves and a lightly smoked jus. Once you’ve enjoyed the meal of your life, retreat to the hotel’s Vesper Bar for a night cap (the Vesper Martini is very good).

Wild Honey at The Sofitel London, St James’s
What: Anthony Demetre's Wild Honey is a sure-fire winner if you're after classic French fine dining in a relaxed setting. A selection of menus make it one of the more accessible restaurants in this list, with set lunch and pre-theatre offerings alongside its regular a la carte menu. If you're dining from the latter, artisanal bread and cultured butter is followed by the likes of classic duck, pork and guinea fowl terrine 'en croûte' with spiced relish, and rabbit 'pastilla' with salsify and blackberries. Sofitel London St James is also perfectly positioned for some London sightseeing, with Piccadilly Circus, The National Gallery, Soho, Leicester Square and other popular landmarks on its doorstep. A series of modern rooms are decorated with iconic pop art, and it houses a posh spa known for its award-winning facials if you're in the mood to be pampered.

Helene Darroze at The Connaught, Mayfair
What: We thought we’d kick things off with one of London’s culinary meccas: Helene Darroze’s three-star restaurant at The Connaught hotel in Mayfair. The salmon pink dining room is all soft tones and curved edges, ensuring guests feel at ease while they tuck into some of the best food in the UK. We’re talking lobster with tandoor spices and citrus, guinea fowl with coffee and sancho pepper, and a saffron chocolate pudding that will blow your mind. A visit to The Connaught is a lesson in all-out luxury, but if you’re lucky enough to stay in one of its suites for the night, you can expect beautifully designed rooms replete with expensive furnishings and high-spec amenities.

Brooklands at The Peninsula London, Belgravia
What: Brooklands achieved the rare feat of winning two Michelin stars within the first year of opening, although when you consider that its culinary director is the great Claude Bosi, perhaps the accolade isn’t quite so surprising. This rooftop restaurant perched at the top of the Peninsula Hotel pays homage to Britain's aviation and motorsport industries via a collection of original artefacts, while menus showcase the best of haute French cuisine. Of course, integral to the dining experience at Brooklands is enjoying spectacular views of London while you eat, which you can't really put a price on. The Peninsula hotel is perched on Hyde Park Corner, a modern building home to slick suites, a pool, wellness centre and spa, plus two other eateries including Canton Blue and its more relaxed Lobby restaurant.

That's got to count for something, and if you've ever had the privilege of eating at his eponymous restaurant, you'll know that he's a chef who understands the difference between a great meal and an exceptional one. Dilling's eight-course menu takes you on a journey of modern French cuisine - every course is exceedingly rich and delicious. It's also slap bang in the middle of London on Regent Street within one of the capital's most opulent hotels. Room rates start from around £800 a night though, you've been warned.

Da Terra at Town Hall Hotel, Bethnal Green
What: Rafael Cagali’s Brazilian-Italian inspired cooking is playful, experimental and, crucially, a joy to eat. His restaurant sits within the The Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, which has laid claim to many Michelin restaurants over the years, including Nuno Mendes’ Viajante and Lee Westcott’s Typing Room. However, Cagali has eclipsed them both with his double-Michelin-starred Da Terra, where inspired dishes like his unique spin on Moqueca (a traditional Brazilian fish stew), and a boozy ‘Baba’ served with pistachio and caviar, are fine examples of his mastery for flavour.

La Dame de Pic at Four Seasons Hotel London, Tower Bridge
What: Everyone's heard of the Four Seasons; they're scattered across the globe, and famous for their unparalleled comfort and modern facilities. The hotel group has two London outlets, one in Mayfair and the other in Tower Bridge, but the latter is where you'll find the two Michelin-starred La Dame de Pic from the highly decorated French chef Anne-Sophie Pic. Her cooking style is inventive and unorthdox; dishes are rooted in classic French ideas, but elevated with modern twists and surprising flavours, like pork with black walnut miso and whiskey Béarnaise. It's worth a visit if you get the chance.

The Dining Room at The Goring, Victoria
What: The Goring's palatial dining room is undeniably beautiful. Following a major restoration in 2024, the restaurant went from slightly old-fashioned to truly magnificent, with sage green draped curtains, glistening chandeliers and upholstered furniture creating the feeling of being on set of a period drama. It's a gorgeous setting to enjoy executive chef Graham Squire's classic British menus, where seasonal produce is treated with respect and creativity. The cooking is exquisite, from Roast Orkney scallops with salt baked celeriac, pickled apple, hazelnut and truffle butter, to duck with cherry glazed leg, spiced pain perdu and hazelnuts. The luxury family-owned hotel is grand but old-school, with top hat-clad doormen who greet you at the entrance and a series of suites with original features and expensive furnishings.
