We’ve all felt it. That soul-crushing feeling the morning after a night of round-buying and succumbing to calls of 'go on, just one more'. You do the calculations swiftly in your head and quickly decide it’s simply not worth checking the old bank balance. Such is the nature of drinking in London, because it doesn’t come cheap, friends. Sadly, we’re no longer surprised when every cocktail on the menu surpasses the £10 mark, and have become resigned to the fact that a pint of bitter will set you back six quid, more or less. £7 if you're somewhere particularly smart.
You could accept it and go about your day, or you could type ‘the best happy hour deals in London’ into Google, an endeavour that will hopefully lead you to this guide. Because we’ve been there. Why shouldn’t it be possible to enjoy the benefits of London’s night life without the fear of saying yes to a double shot? To set your sights on some of its coolest bars and most instagrammable restaurants, without feeling physical pain at every tap of your contactless card.
If you want to find the best deals and discounts on drinks in this dear (in every sense of the word) capital, then happy hours are your friends. Which is why we’ve scouted out the best places to grab discounted drinks. We’re talking 2-4-1 cocktails and pitchers on a budget. Happy hours that run every day (yes, even on a Saturday), with some starting from the hour it opens.
We’ve rounded-up places from Bermondsey to Balham, and plenty in-between, so you can make it a happy hour crawl if you so wish. These thrifty deals will ensure your wallet doesn't take too much of a hit – we're all for drinking responsibly after all.
