Part of an East London & Essex mini-chain, the Westferry Circus branch of Belgique sits just a few metres from the area’s restaurant hub. It brings some of Belgium’s most famous exports to E14, including bottled beer, moules, waffles & pâté – though draught ale is a glaring omission. Locals use its as a drop-in for coffee & pastries, but it’s equally handy for breakfasts, brunches & light bites (quiche, sandwiches & cold cuts); alternatively, consider it for a lunch or dinner of Dover sole, mussels or a lamb burger. The mezzanine of this glass-fronted, orange-walled venue is ideal for full meals, while the lower area (complete with a glass vitrine of patisserie & speciality breads) is top call for chilling. The food won’t have you leaping on the Eurostar to Brussels, but it serves its purpose just fine.
