About

A homage to holistic healing and the philosophy of self-love, YOPO at the Mandrake Hotel offers an immersive afternoon tea experience inspired by the seven chakras. The vibrant interiors of both the bar and restaurant make this quirky but stylish spot a pilgrimage destination for experience dining. Now, with a carefully considered Seven Chakras afternoon tea, YOPO is primed to nourish the soul as well as the body.

At the helm is executive chef George Scott-Toft, who apart from rich culinary experience, brings a wealth of knowledge encompassing indigenous Amazonian ingredients and the culinary traditions of Argentina, Chile, and Peru. But the afternoon tea menu at YOPO The Mandrake isn’t strictly Latin in character - it's an expression of spiritual essence encompassing global flavours with inspired tea pairings.

Each dish is aligned to one of the chakras and carefully thought through so as to highlight ingredients that resonate with the energy centres; from the root chakra to the crown chakra. You’ll begin with The Root Chakra - a combination of smoked beetroot, topped with feta and almonds - paired with a ripe pu’erh black tea aged for eight years to develop a soothing texture and peach finish. Moving through the chakras, expect a Sacral Chakra yellowtail tostada with sweet potato and physalis, a miniature brioche bun with Manchego and Jamon Iberico, and The Crown Chakra; a craquelin-clad choux bun bursting with spiced blackberry and apple.

Guests can enjoy this regenerative afternoon tea in the YOPO restaurant surrounded by sumptuous bohemian aesthetics, emotive sculptures, and exotic greenery. Or, in the contrasting YOPO bar designed to reflect the vibrancy of South America with immersive punk pink walls, eclectic furniture, and striking artworks. The Mandrake Hotel also offers a spiritual well-being programme for overnight guests - so why not make a weekend of it?
