Found Bar & Restaurant is the bar and all-day restaurant at the Lost Property Hotel in St. Paul’s, serving an afternoon tea of sweets and savouries every afternoon.
The hotel itself sits right next to St. Paul’s Cathedral, making it an ideal stop-off for anyone planning to visit this iconic London landmark. Meanwhile, Found Bar & Restaurant takes equal inspiration from French and British cuisine, serving menus that combine the best of both worlds. Inside, the decor is recognisable and eccentric, featuring a number of overhead installations of colourful birds, as well as mirroring paintings around the walls. It makes a striking and unique place to have afternoon tea, and the central London location is ideal for anyone who is spotting London’s most famous landmarks.
The afternoon tea menu kicks off with savouries - little twists on classic sandwiches, like truffled chicken mayonnaise on brioche loaf, and marinated cucumber and dill with lemon butter on white loaf. Then, of course, freshly baked plain and fruit scones arrive with clotted cream, and strawberry and raspberry preserve. Save room for some precision patisserie too, which includes lemon and yoghurt bavarese with grapefruit and orange, and a blueberry lavender cheesecake.
If you’re celebrating (or you just enjoy a glass of fizz) you can add a glass of Chapel Down Brut, or you can upgrade with 90 minutes of bottomless St Meyland Cremant if you so choose. Teas are supplied by Newby, and include classics like English Breakfast and Earl Grey as well as fragrant Jasmin Princess and Hunan Green tea.
