Got any golf fanatics you need to please? If you’re planning a corporate retreat trip to boost your team’s morale or if you’re on the hunt for some cool teambuilding, we’ve got just the thing – virtual reality golf.
The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews in Scotland (one of the most luxurious resorts in the world and dubbed ‘the birthplace of golf’), has taken a step into the future by introducing its virtual reality golf simulator.
This doesn’t only mean you’re crazy-for-golf clients and colleagues can play their favourite game no matter the weather. It also means your not-so-crazy-for-golf clients and colleagues can have some practice shots before they hit the green for the real stuff. Another option is to organise a golf-themed party or event in the simulator. Called AboutGolf, it uses a patented, three-high-speed camera and tracking system.
The hotel, which overlooks the iconic Old Course, is a five red star-rated property that features the world-renowned Kohler Waters Spa. This is where you take those less interested in the sport for a serious pampering (although we’re sure the golfers would appreciate some relaxation after all that swinging, too).
Afterwards, you can hit up the Road Hole Bar where scotch from any of the 212 active distilleries in Scotland is served. You could opt for the Jigger Inn pub as well, which is visited by most players and caddies after finishing a round.
