Lunar offers a unique dining experience in the heart of Staffordshire centred around modern cooking techniques and sustainable principles. Should you wish to experience its forward-thinking food for an event or occasion, you can do just that by hiring out one of its beautiful private spaces. With head chef Carl Riley at the helm of the kitchen, diners can expect an ever-changing menu based around sustainable practices and seasonal produce.
The Botanic Garden is Lunar’s hidden gem – a speakeasy style cocktail lounge accessible via a secret door from the main restaurant. Able to host up to 25 guests, this cosy space features a fake tree in the centre decorated in twinkling fairy lights, and would be perfect for relaxed events like a drinks party.
For more intimate events, the Chef’s Table offers a private dining experience like no other. It’s set back from the main restaurant to provide a secluded corner and features a four-metre concrete table with a view of the kitchen. You can hire this room for between four and 12 people for a truly memorable fine dining experience. Or, for larger private dining events, The Parlour is a modern and spacious setting able to host up to 40 guests.
Elsewhere, The Bubble Room is a more casual space suitable for up to 14. Drinks receptions and networking events would work well here, allowing guests to enjoy Lunar’s art and decor while soaking up the vibrance of the main restaurant. And just next door you’ll find The Lunar Bar, another relaxed room able to hold 30 people.
When it comes to food and drink, Carl Riley’s hyper-seasonal menus offer the best of British produce and can be personalised to suit your requirements. For a flavour of what to expect, just some of his highly-executed dishes in the past have included Yorkshire asparagus with confit egg yolk, wild garlic pesto, salted ricotta and fermented garlic, and tempura Colchester oysters with trout roe and Champagne gel.
