Using ginseng and eucalyptus, Oh K! Under Eye masks from Oliver Bonas will be just the solution for hiding those post-summer-party bags. Then give your guests something to talk about on the way home with an Eat Grub bar. The inclusion of cricket protein powder makes these a gentle introduction to insect ingesting. We also can’t get enough of the satirical Ladybird Book series, and Penguin’s latest will bring a smile to your guests’ faces after a hard night of partying. Pick them up from Waterstones for £5.49.

The rose gold trend isn’t going away – and we aren’t complaining either. Add a touch of shine to your summer party drinks with these foiled straws from Papermash. We got more beverage inspiration at a launch party for the Sea Containers House’s event space where we spent the night sipping on lassis in milk carton-style vessels. It sparked a thought: these would be great for summer parties where glass is a no-no. As for what food to serve, we know as well as you do that memorable dishes must look as good as they taste. Enter Alison Price catering, whose pretty potstickers are given grace with miniature bamboo steamers.

Pantone has gone off piste with its colour of the year. ‘Greenery’ is its choice for 2017, which should bring a touch of nature to indoor spring and summer parties. Continuing the theme, branches – yep, that’s right – will also be big this year. Take a sidestep from floral table centres and get your florist to create pieces using olive, manzanita or birch branches. In the fashion world, signature styles of the 80s have been big on the catwalks this season. The ideas transfer well into events too, just apply high-shine fabrics, cool graphics and a dress code. Night dos are where this era really flourishes.
