Cookery School is all about teaching fun, delicious, ethical cooking. There are no frills and no fuss here, just classic technique, sustainable practice, and camaraderie. Nothing fosters collaboration more than cooking together, which - paired with a relaxed but structured environment - makes Cookery School a popular destination for private parties, corporate cooking classes, team-building events, and hen and stag dos.
Located on Little Portland Street just minutes from Oxford Circus, Cookery School has hosted corporate cooking events and classes for over two decades. Yes, it’s not your typical corporate event space, but it's sure to be an impressive way to entertain clients and unite the team in the spirit of community (or healthy competition).
You’ll begin with a welcome drink with some snacks. Then, in separate groups, head into the kitchen under the guidance of experienced teachers. After you’ve been instructed on how to best dice, chop, slice, and craft some great dishes, you’ll round off the day by enjoying your creations accompanied by specially selected organic wine pairings.
The menus follow the seasons, but have included a French menu of pistou soup, baked line caught catch of the day with hollandaise; a Middle Eastern menu of mezze starters, grilled chicken with chermoula, and semolina cake; and a Spanish menu of tapas and homemade bread, chicken paella, and a Pedro Ximenez sherry and raisin ice cream. Alternatively, if you’re looking to steal the limelight, you can book a bake-off-style competition or a chocolate masterclass. Plus, the Cookery School menus can be adjusted to suit specific likes, dislikes, and dietary requirements.
But it’s not just technical skills. At the core of the Cookery School is sustainability, so you’ll also delve into the realm of eco-conscious cooking, learn about organic low-footprint produce, and pick up some tips on how to keep a sustainable kitchen.
