The lucky winners will be given one of the hotel’s Executive King Rooms for the night. The luxury bedrooms come with king-size beds, a bath with a built-in TV and products from top brand Espa. Hard week at work? Not a problem: there’ll even be access to the Thermal Floor for a dip in the vitality pool, a steam in the sauna or a chance to unwind in its relaxation areas.

Of its eight meeting rooms (all with HD plasma screens and drop-down projectors) the belle-epoque ballroom impresses us most. With a maximum capacity of 400 it’s made for receptions, or banquets of up to 180 diners – it easily transforms into a conference space too. Smaller dos can be held in the other function rooms on the mezzanine level, with access to a private dining area in onsite – and much revered – restaurant The Northall.
