As you might guess from the name, the Canterbury Cathedral Lodge sits right in the shadow of Canterbury's famous Cathedral, and provides stunning views of the UNESCO World Heritage site. This is a stylish place to stay in the middle of the city, but Canterbury Cathedral Lodge also boasts a range of events spaces, meeting rooms and conference facilities to handle all sorts of large and small events.
The most flexible of those is the 50-capacity Common Room - a blank canvas space that offers beautiful views of the Cathedral. This is a perfect space for smaller corporate events - meetings, workshops and the like - but it can also be outfitted for casual private celebrations and receptions. The Common Room opens up onto the Campanile Garden - a unique green space right in front of the historic Cathedral - giving you a lovely breakout space for al fresco events like barbecues and drinks parties.
Those planning something a bit larger should take a look at the Kentish Barn - an equally versatile space that has capacity for up to 200 standing guests within its smart wood-panelled walls and gabled roof. This makes an impressive venue to hold a large networking event, gala dinner or reception. For extra flexibility, the Kentish Barn can be divided into two separate events spaces via a soundproof partition wall - the Dean John Simpson Room and the Canterbury Room, which are both equally flexible and available for a wide range of different events.
Even larger is the Clagett Auditorium, which seats 250 in a theatre-style layout and features great natural acoustics, theatre lighting and adaptable staging and AV equipment. Although this is a purpose-built auditorium and therefore ideal for awards ceremonies, live performances and occasions where you're making speeches, it's still very flexible and adaptable to a wide range of events. There's also additional balcony space that can function as a breakout area.
Add in a modern lecture theatre with full AV suite and Canterbury Cathedral Lodge really has a room to suit every occasion. Get in touch with the team to book a space and start planning your event.
