The Cambridge Corn Exchange was built in 1842, and was a building for farmers and merchants to trade their grains. Similar to the event space it is today, The Corn Exchange formally opened on the 6th of November in 1875, and was marked with a civic procession from the Guildhall. In 1982 the building was converted into a concert hall, and four years later, even more improvements were made.
At this beautiful venue, you can enjoy the wonderful, high vaulted ceilings and arched walls that will create a unique atmosphere and setting for your event, no matter what it is. There are set ups suited to standing receptions and Christmas parties, through to meetings and live music performances. The stage used at your event will be the same one that has been frequented by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Paloma Faith and Lee Evans.
Once you book your event, you will work closely with the experienced event team in order to create something that is personalised to your tastes. The team will provide you with a list of preferred suppliers and amenities that will make your event spectacular. You'll also have access to the venue's catering, AV, furniture hire and more.
There are several rooms to choose from at The Corn Exchange, from the auditorium that accommodates between 300 and 1300 delegates, through to the Foyer which is a great space to welcome your guests. There are other spaces, such as St John's Room which is great for break out spaces, and the King's Room that is better suited to small, intimate meetings and presentations. Whatever you’re planning, the Cambridge Corn Exchange is a great place to host.
