From first-timers to pros, just about everyone has something to prove on the race track. The woodland Buckmore Park Kart Circuit is where Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton first tested their mettle, and it’s where anyone can now indulge their taste for speed. Established for more than half a century near Chatham in Kent, Buckmore is only 15 minutes from the M25 and a little more than half an hour from central London. It can cater for groups of all sizes, from individuals to corporate excursions with up to 280 drivers, and with two new fleets of karts added in 2013, the thrills – and the occasional spills – promise to be as spectacular as ever. The site has facilities that extend well beyond the circuit’s tyre walls. Quad bikes, Powerturn buggies and laser warfare games can all be arranged, for example. If you want to get serious, there’s a conference centre with meeting room hire and catering available.
