The Bulletproof is a nifty drink. You don't need a cocktail shaker, but a jam jar, in which you make and serve the drink. It's handy for a party, because you can batch-make them beforehand. Put all the ingredients in the jars then keep them in the fridge. When you're ready to serve, just add the ice, shake and garnish. 

Ingredients

35ml bourbon
20ml cloudy apple juice
15ml Bramley and Gage Greengage Liqueur
15ml lemon juice
2 barspoons gooseberry jam
1 mint leaf
1kg gooseberries 
250g sugar
100g elderflower cordial
Juice of 1 lemon

Method

Glass: jam jar

Pour all the ingredients into the jam jar, fill with ice, and securely replace the lid

Shake for 30 seconds to get a good ice dilution

Remove the lid and top up with more ice

Garnish with a liquorice stick, sprig of mint and twist of lemon peel.

*To make the gooseberry jam

1kg gooseberries 
250g sugar 
100g elderflower cordial 
Juice of 1 lemon 
Simmer all ingredients gently for 1 hour
