Amidst Angel's buzzing throng of boutiques and bars is La Farola Cafe, an authentic and independent Spanish restaurant, about 10 minutes walk from the station and in a great spot, right in the heart of the action.
Stretched around a corner with a glass facade, its cosiness is clear from the outside. Indoors, warm, natural interiors create a relaxed feel, making this a great place for dinner with friends, or in the festive season, a perfect option for booking your Christmas meal. Whether you're organising a get together for your gang or you're in charge of the office Christmas do, Angel is an ideal place for it, with plenty of public transport nearby and local night-life in case you want to keep the party going.
The team are excited to welcome Christmas bookings and have even created two new menus for lunch and dinner, just for the season. For lunch, you can opt for two or three courses, starting with a feasting board that's perfect for four people sharing, laden with Young manchego cheese, Serrano ham, Spanish olives, chicken wings, mushroom croquetas, Padron peppers and canapés with grated tomato, goat’s cheese, anchovies, roasted red peppers.
For mains, there's plenty of options across meat, fish and plant-based dishes, with the likes of beef meatballs cooked in traditional Spanish tomato sauce and served with deep fried parmentier
potatoes, Mediterranean rice, mixed leaves salad and cherry tomatoes, alongside deep fried crispy baby squid served with fried parmentier potatoes, Mediterranean rice and paprika aioli. Followed by desserts like chocolate brownie and Manchego cheesecake.
As for dinner, instead of main courses, guests can tuck into a selection of tapas, which means you get the chance to try a little bit of everything. Think small plates like grilled chicken thighs with romesco sauce and roasted cauliflower steak with broadbeans puree and pine nuts.
