Whether you’re planning an intimate dinner for eight, or a cocktail reception for 90, there are a wealth of options to suit. For smaller groups, The Carriage is an intimate space that injects modern style into the walls of what was once a Victorian railway hotel. Featuring a beautiful bespoke light feature, abundant natural light, comfortable chairs and the ability to host a range of seating arrangements, it’s a flexible space that’s sure to impress. There’s even a TV screen hidden behind discreet wooden panelling should you require it. The Carriage can hold 30 for a cocktail reception, or 16 around a single table.
The Lounge is interconnected with the Carriage and offers a cosy space for relaxed gatherings of up to 60 guests. This space can be split into two rooms – Lounge 1 and 2 – or hired in its entirety for more lavish receptions. Equally, both the Carriage and the Lounge can be hired in conjunction with one another, for larger celebrations of up to 90.
The Mezzanine is another stylish space, so named for its semi-accessible view into the Great Northern Hotel Bar and Terrace. Soak up the buzzy atmosphere of the bar below, while enjoying the privacy of your own private space. This room is recommended for more relaxed gatherings, such as a festive drinks party.
For standing events, there is a canape menu featuring a selection of hot, cold and sweet options. Examples include a poached chicken Waldorf tartlet, smoked salmon blinis, prawn tempura with sweet chilli sauce and mini beef burgers.
