This vibrant Spanish restaurant chain offers diners traditional cuisine curated with passion by chef Omar to taste just like the dishes he grew up with in his hometown of Madrid. Get into the fiesta mood at Tapas Revolution Newcastle with the bright and colourful interior décor that uses pops of yellow and red throughout. Dine at the bar, around the tree feature growing through the floor or prop yourself at one of the marble-topped tables.
Tapas Revolution Newcastle serves up a selection of tapas, paellas and desserts which are perfect for sharing, while drinks include a range of wines, Sangria and summery cocktails. The restaurant also has lunch and set menus to choose from and opens every day at 10am, so you can get your little taste of Spain while sharing paella among friends.
Start with a taster of breads or the restaurant’s signature vegan nibble, the gazpacho de sandía: a chilled tomato and watermelon soup. Tapas are designed to be shared with small dishes including beef and pork meatballs in salsa, the gambas al ajillo – tiger prawns with chilli and garlic, and piquillo pepper, baked and filled with a pepper sauce and mushroom béchamel.
Tapas Revolution’s famous dishes are the paellas, coming in portions for two or four and offering a variety of mixes such as the valenciana with chicken, artichokes, green beans, red peppers and finished with rosemary. Desserts include Spanish favourites crema catalana and churros with a chocolate dipping sauce.
The restaurant also has plenty of specials during the week, such as the Tapas Revolution’s ‘Happy Hora’ where you can enjoy half price Sangria jugs and 2-4-1 Larios G&Ts and cocktails every Sunday to Friday. Listen to live music and sip on beer specials on the first Friday of every month and students get a discount of 50% off their meal every Monday and Tuesday. The menus also have many vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes. Children are welcome at Tapas Revolution Newcastle with a kiddies menu dishing up two not-so-spicy tapas and mini churros for a fiver.
