Though it may physically be set in Shoreditch, this new eatery has its heart in New York and its soul in the old Jewish and Italian communities. There aren’t many places in London to offer a proper Ruben – Salt beef, sauerkraut and melted swiss cheese with Russian dressing – alongside a chipotle pulled pork, served with apple slaw, but they do here. Avoiding carbs? Order a box instead – either way, they’re heavily loaded and thoroughly satisfying. There’s enough space for a few people to eat in from breakfast, where pancakes and waffles with various toppings hold sway, to early evening, but most come to the great white marble bar to order their sandwiches or boxes to take away.
