Bang in the middle of the King’s Road, close to the Old Town Hall, this daytime drop-in is a godsend for Chelsea folk on the go – be it shoppers, tourists or local residents. Like the café attached to its sibling the River Quarter Kitchen, CQC does a good line in all-day breakfasts, pastries and sandwiches backed up by a host of mezze-style dips and salads (try quinoa with mung beans, peas and sun-dried tomatoes or corn-fed chicken breast with roasted sweet potato, fennel and pine nuts). There are also ‘chef’s favourites’ in the shape of beef carpaccio, charcuterie plates and the like. Teas and coffees are well represented – otherwise, quench your thirst with one of this exotic fruit juices or smoothies.
