Oakhouse Hotel's owners announced that they were 'ceasing to trade' and would 'not be able to fulfill their wedding commitments', following the unexpected closure of the hotel. This left many individuals who had prior arrangements at a loose end, with their weddings now unlikely to go ahead.
'We empathise with couples like Nicole and Connor who are going through a challenging time due to the sudden closure of their chosen venue. The Grand Pier is here to support and assist them in creating a beautiful and memorable wedding experience despite the unexpected hurdles they've faced', said Melissa Rule, events manager at The Grand Pier.
This shocking occurrence comes as a surprise to many, despite the rising costs of many venues across the UK and the more recent announcement that the UK has officially entered into a recession. Just a month after Swindon Hotel and wedding venue declared its closure due to financial difficulties, it's not just Oakhouse that's struggled to meet financial targets.
In spite of the bad news, The Grand Pier has come to the rescue by pledging to offer support to those affected by the closure. The venue is encouraging couples to reach out directly to The Grand Piers’ events team to discuss special arrangements for their big day, and to help get things back on track.
