With an outstanding location in the Dorset countryside, Smedmore House boasts a truly romantic setting, with sweeping views of Dorset's rolling hills and coastline from inside the house and the marquee site on the front lawn. This unique destination works well for small, intimate weddings within the house and for larger weddings of up to 250 people in a marquee. Smedmore House is fully licensed for five rooms inside the house and also across the grounds, so you can hold a legal ceremony wherever you please. However, there are several popular spaces to choose from. Many couples choose The Avenue to tie the knot, an outdoor space with far reaching sea views and unlimited guest capacity. You can personalise the space with a flower arch, bespoke décor and live music to walk down the aisle to, or keep it simply as it is. If you’d prefer an indoor ceremony there are plenty of stunning rooms within the manor that can accommodate up to 60 guests.
For your reception, wedding breakfast and evening festivities, a marquee on the front lawn is the ideal spot. With a backdrop of the manor’s exquisite Georgian façade, not to mention sea views, this is a popular choice year round.

There is no charge for corkage if you’d prefer to bring your own alcohol, or opt for one of the bartending companies to include drinks, glasses and staff in one convenient package.
