Pleasant discovery
Tried it last Sunday – very nice and cozy environment in what used to be before a run-down Nepalese restaurant (a welcome change for us locals, i must say). As it was the first time we visited the place tried quite a few items on the menu – the pork terrine, the chevice, foie gras, gnocchi (amazing italian cheese dressing, but forgot to take note of the name), and then a provencal lamb rack. all delicious, simple and rich of taste. wine list is very robust. my wife is a sommelier and she was pleasantly surprised by the choices: very france and italy centric but with some interesting new world picks. went for a very interesting German Riesling (suggestion of the manager, would have never picked a German wine I must confess) and a Pinot Noir from California recommended by the owner, which was an excellent discovery (searched it on google when i went out and found an enlighting, dedicated review from Jancis Robinson, which makes me think the owners spent a lot of time in putting together the list…). not cheap, but top food, very good wine picks (also by the glass and caraffe), very cool setting (I spend a lot of time in NY and it reminds me of some places there). already booked for a dinner with colleagues in december
