Blink and you’ll miss this modest Brazilian bar-diner, masked by the mayhem of Chalk Farm Road and Camden Market – but it’s worth discovering. Loud, colourful and dare we say it, a little tacky, the interior of Made in Brasil Boteco disguises the quality of the authentic Brazilian menu, which is arranged by petiscos (Brazilian tapas), platters, plus traditional main courses and puddings. The helpful staff are happy to offer recommendations, and their suggestions of kibe (beef croquettes with chilli vinaigrette), calabresa acebolada (pork sausages fried with onion and cachaça) and camarão alho e óleo (garlic and chilli prawns) were flavoursome and perfectly cooked. A long list of Caipirinha cocktails offers post-prandial temptations. Take a trip to the roof terrace following your meal for a spicy chilli raspberry Caipirinha above the lights of Chalk Farm Road, and you’ll be as close to a rowdy Rio night as Camden allows.
