If you’ve bought into the Latin American food fashion in London (who hasn’t?), this Essex Road spot has everything you could ask for. You’re greeted by friendly staff decked out in folk Latin costumes, and drink choices (from Pisco Sours to Margaritas, via beer and wine) are in abundance. The menu, specialising in Ecuadorean fare, includes ceviche of sea bream with lemon juice, tamarillo and yellow chilli, and tuna tiradito (ceviche’s cousin, with sauce), with an array of grilled meats and slow-cooked dishes (such as 18-hour cooked pork belly with sweet potato purée and tamarind sauce) to follow. There’s an interesting take on rice pudding using quinoa for dessert if diners get that far.
