This modern neighbourhood restaurant keeps the community at its heart, with the use of local suppliers and staff, and looks to work towards a sustainable and supportive hospitality micro economy. Combining a relaxed, informal setting with the finesse of fine dining, Restaurant OXA lends itself as both a place to catch up with friends and somewhere to celebrate special occasions. Chef Andrew Sheridan, who found culinary fame through his impressive appearances on Great British Menu in 2018 and 2019, leads the kitchen here. It was opened alongside Jake Smith, who is another local chef, as well as Sam and Emma Morgan.
The menu champions British produce, and changes regularly with the seasons, but you can expect to see dishes like roasted cod with pea, mint and bacon, isle of white tomato with sheep's cheese and BBQ pork loin with belly and black garlic. Each meal can be paired with a wine flight as an optional extra, where you’ll be taken on a tour of the English and Welsh vineyards, to further celebrate the often-small family businesses that can be found throughout the British Isles.
For those who are after a slightly more exclusive experience, private dining is available by hiring out the entire restaurant, which has seating for up to 28 people, and comes with a minimum spend. Otherwise the team are also available to be booked for meals within the comfort of your own home, where the Restaurant OXA brigade will treat guests to an impressive selection of dishes that focus on classic European flavours which have been given a contemporary twist. The humble ingredients used are of the highest quality, and are presented in a simplistic way to let each individual one shine. With so many options available, Restaurant OXA makes a great option for any celebration, whether it’s a birthday party, family gathering, or even a business meeting.
