Dating back to 1559, the Barceló Old Ship is the oldest hotel in Brighton & stands proudly on the town’s bustling seafront. Past guests here have included Lord Byron, Charles Dickens & Winston Churchill. From its magnificent white facade to the contemporary reception area, the 154-bedroom hotel prides itself on delivering excellent customer service in comfortable, relaxed surroundings. A recent refurbishment programme has seen Brighton’s oldest meeting room, the 300-capacity, Grade II-listed Paganini Ballroom, returned to its former Regency splendour. Also rich in period detail, the adjacent Regency Room, with its high ceilings & natural daylight, can hold receptions for up to 120 people. Among other evocative spaces at this historic hotel are the large & extensive wine cellars, with capacity for up to 26 people, where pirate smugglers once stashed their booty after raids on the high seas.
