The Gore is a quintessentially British hotel with a fabulous location, found smack, bang in the middle of Kensington, right next to Hyde Park and plenty of iconic landmarks. It has been entertaining both Londoners and out-of-towners since 1892 and has some huge names in its ranks of previous guests including Judy Garland and The Rolling Stones, who chose the hotel to host their album launch party back in in 1968.
And, what's good enough for the 'Stones is good enough for us, so if you too are interested in what The Gore has to offer as a private hire venue, we think you'll be pleased. The Gore has an experienced events team and, for those getting married, a wedding coordinator on hand to help as much or as little as you'd like for the planning of your event.
There are three main spaces which can be taken over for an event. The largest of which is the Tapestry Room with dramatic dark walls, wooden panelling, huge tapestries and gilded golden frames. It's an impactful, stunning backdrop with capacity for 100 people standing, or 30 people when seated. The Mulberry Room has a similar feel with inky walls and large artworks, this time with a capacity of 30 when standing and 16 when seated. It is possible to combine these two spaces and open up the flow of the floor, creating enough room for 150 in total, if you fancy throwing the part of the century!
Alternatively, the Library Room has a unique air of elegance and grandioise, making for a very special backdrop for an important event. Stand out features include the mahagony bookcase, historic art works and, of course, teal walls. Here, you can host 40 people for drinks, or 22 for a sit-down dinner. In the day time, huge windows fill the space with sunlight, and in the evening it's full of ambience.
